Aren't we kinda playing this game wrong?
2026-03-11We have this one diverse world. Various resources are scattered all around it, so are we. We have formed groups, which is OK, but is what we’re doing right?
At the moment, around 8 billion of us are on this single world alive. This world is pretty diverse - what’s found in one region may not be found elsewhere. We have established our infrastructure over all of the regions i.e. unlocked all of the regions. Ideally, all of us should be working together, helping each other make this world a better place as either we’ve over time forgotten the main objectives or those don’t exist in this difficulty to begin with, because our time here is so limited might as well make the best out of it.
However what we’ve been doing is quite far from that. We have went way too far fighting between ourselves, given into relentless greed, wrath., doing so we’ve gotten weak as well.
Fighting taken too far
We have taken our fights too far. We have roughly went from fists to sticks, rocks to spears, axes to bows and arrows to cannons and firearms all the way to nuclear weapons. So now fights(aka wars) are a major threat and a lot of resources are spent on arsenal and fortification, surveillance. The way it is right now, a single fight between 2 groups can evolve into something involving numerous parties, the biggest threat anyway is the nuclear weapons we’ve built not just for destruction but also for negotiations and threats. The worst part of the whole nuclear weapon thing is the immense probability in the case of one being used by a party of other parties using theirs as well as punishment or counter-attack and so on. A world nuclear war would be the most devastating disaster we would’ve ever faced were that to ever happen.
If we were to abandon our war industry and allocate those resources towards other goals the results would be much greater and more useful. Instead of for killing others we could use those resources for helping others just as we’re supposed to or even science, research, pretty much anything else!
Fights have taken us too far
We’ve gotten used to fights, absence of actual peace. When the Russo-Ukrainian war escalated already about 4 years ago I didn’t feel a thing, like I was used to that global conflict somewhat close to me. Throughout my entire life there hasn’t been long-standing peace around the country where I’ve happened to be living. And it’s like normal.
Greed
We have what we have, but we always want more sometimes at the expense of others. That applies to most of us, even the people high up making important decisions. Nowadays that’s a significant reason for starting wars - the desire for more.
It’s a sin. It’s to be avoided, resisted. We’ve become weak and are unable to resist that.
The current systems suck
We’ve all heard it: the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. That’s not the way it should be anywhere. The current forms of governments allow for corruption which by law can be difficult to get rid of.
Speaking of law, isn’t it stupid how when we don’t like what someone’s doing, we put them in a cage for some amount of time or even worse - for their entire life - or even worse: just kill them? All those criminals just need help we refuse to give, and we punish them for not seeking help and us not noticing and/or giving them that help.
Where I live, by random chance I might be forced to join the military even if I don’t want to to protect the country or rather the group of people known as the government whom I don’t feel any gratitude towards. I may be subject to conscription just because I have happened to be a citizen of this country and am healthy. That’s just absurd.
The ideal world
A life in harmony. Achieving global harmony would definitely be very difficult. Achieving any change which would involve someone’s loss power, status who is supported by large entities will be very difficult as well. We’ve put ourselves in a really tough spot.
